VRAY RHINO DEMO UPDATE
In addition, this version also introduced the final frame production GPU rendering feature, which is a major update of V-Ray RT in Maya. The rendering speed of most scenes was promoted by 20-50%. The biggest improvement of V-Ray for Maya 3.3 is its running speed.

Beyond that, V-Ray also can be run as a separate renderer, which is convenient for users to render various images.

Of which, V-Ray for Maya provides high-quality graphics and animation rendering capabilities for the excellent 3D modeling software Maya.

A lot of users have Artlantis as a nice workflow and there is the OCtane plugin.V-Ray is a series of professional rendering plugins/standalone apps developed by Chaos Group company. If there were more plugins to choose from would be nice ofcourse, but on the other hand Cinerender seems to have that great performance when choosing CPU rendering. (I have to say though, that I used to work with Artlantis and the exchange was very easy.)

Then it is much easier to invest and upgrade hardware for GPU rendering then for CPU rendering.Īnyway, having a direct render option from within ArchiCAD (with Cinerender or plugin) seems far more attractive (imo) then having to export it to a standalone render software.

if you do not have a great GPU you might need to invest in hardware as well. Comparing that to the 1000US of Vray youy mentioned in this thread, it is less, but then. OctaneRender plugin and standalone (you need standalone licence as well to run plugin) will cost 619US dollar.

That might be important in what hardware you need. Is Vray not only partially GPU render used for previews mainly and not for production rendering? Or has it become a fully GPU render software now? For ARCHICAD I think this is currently available only in the 3rd party OctaneRender, which is GPU-based, and which can work inside of ARCHICAD. It would be more selective and flexible way. Also, agree with you about choice of rendering engine via connectors. The 1000 USD over base price is so-so way, however. That however would be a great addition to Cinerender for ArchiCAD when it is released.Īs far as I know GRAPHISOFT has worked with several other vendors in the past when they developed their renderers for ARCHICAD. 1000 bucks for Revit as for 3D Studio and Rhino, etc. That would be nice if it didn't cost any money to put it in Revit, but I suppose it will cost the same cca. Maybe VRay was jointly developed for Revit, but it will nevertheless cost money when it is officially released. CineRender in ARCHICAD has just so much more.īesides that there are of course multiple additional Renderers for both applications (which all cost additional money). Plus, it just doesn't have a lot of things CineRender has.

Maybe Autodesk Raytracer can get a decent result in a short time, but there are hardly any customization options in it in terms of rendering effects if you want to go beyond those default settings. I am not exactly sure what you are trying to say.īut if you compare the built-in Renderer in ARCHICAD (CineRender) with the built-in Renderer in Revit (Autodesk Raytracer - they have only one, too), CineRender wins hands down. This product of Chaos Group, isn't it? But it was integrate in Revit jointly. Ps/ don't understand a bit last sentence about Vray. Unfortunately, now they will not support two renderers in AC at the same time, i think. Maybe, look to competitor's trend (Revit), maybe anything else. Don't know, what must be happen before it change. Yes, I agree that Graphisoft in collaboration with Maxon made the serios rut for a long time.
